You Are Amazing!

When I think about the people who serve God I am reminded about just how amazing they are. The word “amazing” has so many meanings including astonishing, incredible, marvelous, breathtaking, awesome, wonderful, and so many more.

Thinking about how God created mankind, we realize that our image is unique. Our strengths and weaknesses are developed by Him. Our choices are based upon our understanding of His love and His nature. His grace gives us courage and boldness when under fire.

God gave us an amazing ability to touch lives – even to turn the world upside down! Created for the Master’s use, we are His chosen vessels of clay.

The Lord Jesus Christ is our ultimate example of all that encompasses “amazing.”  Let me list some of the most amazing facts about our Savior.

He received His Name from angel.

He was born in a stable, yet rose to be King of the world.

He was prophesied about before He even arrived.

He has the most famous book in the world written about Him:  the Bible.

His Name is above all names.

His message of love and forgiveness was demonstrated by His actions.

He was amazing in His own personal life. He loved His parents, followed their instructions, obeyed the Law, and walked in the traditions of His day.

He was amazing in His behavior. Everything He did was in obedience to His Father God. He spoke truth, forgave, loved, resisted temptation, and was disciplined in prayer.

He was amazing in His speech. He spoke the Word. (Matthew 4: 1-11)  He spoke His Father’s Words. (John 14: 24)

He was amazing in His timing – at the wedding in Cana, at His baptism, with His arrival in Jerusalem, with His experience in the Garden of Gethsemane, on the day of His death, in His resurrection, and with His promise at Pentecost. His timing was amazing!

He was amazing in His family relationships. He could manage criticism. (Mark 3: 21 and Mark 6: 3)  He also obeyed his mother.

He was amazing in His love for mankind. He healed the sick, delivered the captive, confronted evil, and was full of compassion. He was understanding, loved children, and spoke truth always.

So as we have just reviewed some of the amazing qualities of Jesus, can we now take time to evaluate our own lives? Do we know our purpose and also walk in it? Do we set godly examples for others in our behavior, attitude, love, discipline, and actions? Do we speak according to God's Word? Is our timing in alignment with His will?

These are all questions for us to meditate upon as we move through our daily lives representing Jesus Christ in our world today.  Don't we always want to represent Him and all His amazing ways?

And finally remember this -- you are AMAZING because He lives in you!

You Are Amazing!

Amazing people you are, serving God near and far.

Amazing in your heart to give, amazing in your desire to live.

Amazing in your testimonies of change, amazing in how you’ve let God rearrange.

Amazing in your witness to others, amazing in your care for your brothers.

Amazing in capacity to hear His voice, amazing in ability to make the right choice.

You are definitely amazing:  astonishing – surprising – wonderfully made.

You are amazing!
