For the past two weeks we have been looking at the theme "radical worshippers." Let’s continue our deep dive into this topic by looking at two more characteristics of those who worship with boldness.
Bold worshippers are Pure.
Psalm 24:3-4, 6a (NKJV) -- Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, nor sworn deceitfully….This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him, who seek Your face. Selah
Those who boldly enter the Lord’s Presence have learned to address their sin and shortcomings with immediate repentance. Mothers of Nations, sin separates us from God and it disrupts our communication with Him.
Isaiah 59:2 (NKJV) -- But your iniquities have separated you from your God; and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear.
Therefore as radical bold worshippers, we must transparently open our lives to the Holy Spirit at all times, letting Him speak to us about any areas that may need the cleansing of the blood of Jesus. We need to die to our flesh, self-will, ego, and pride – especially as these relate to our worship lifestyle and experience.
Basically, we need to burn our own agendas and plans when it comes to worshipping the Lord. How often have we come seeking His hand (how He can bless us, help us) rather than just coming to seek His face (His presence). True intimacy (real worship) requires purity in our lives. As I once heard a minister say, “God is looking for a pure bride, not a casual girlfriend.”
Bold pure worshippers are also holy worshippers and we CAN walk a lifestyle of holiness. 1 Peter 1:15-16 (NLT) reminds us of God’s standard. 15 But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy. 16 For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.”
This is not just Christian verbiage. Holiness is a mandate. Worldliness in our lives really reveals our lack of intimacy with God, our lack of bold, pure worship in His presence. The truth is this: We won’t desire to spend time with Him (worship) when we are messing in worldly things! Purity and holiness bring power (His Presence) into our worship experiences. That power is often expressed in boldness.
Bold worshippers are Prayerful.
Mothers of Nations, bold worshippers learn to interchange their praise, prayer, worship, and intercession to affect and impact their world for Jesus Christ.
Acts 4: 29-31 (NLT) 29 And now, O Lord, hear their threats, and give us, your servants, great boldness in preaching your word. 30 Stretch out your hand with healing power; may miraculous signs and wonders be done through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” 31 After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness.
Most succinctly stated, prayer produces relationship and relationship supplies boldness.
Next week we will move on to another quality of “radical worshippers.” Until then, may you boldly and confidently come before the Lord in worship and praise this week, repenting of anything that could hinder those precious times in His Presence.
